Alex contacted me and to see if I could photograph his proposal to Dana, at Longwood Gardens. Of course, we said yes and hoped that she would too so that we could all avoid an awkward evening adventure.
He led her out into a lawn behind the fountain show at Longwood and dropped to a knee. My assistant Devyn and I had been waiting in our pre-determined location when Alex walked past; we subtly acknowledged each other as Dana and their moms walked right past us, oblivious that we were anything other than some guests taking photos of the scenery.
It was crazy dark in this section of the lawn, but we made the most of it, and with Devyn filling in as our human light stand, we captured some portraits afterwards before heading to the Gables at Chadds Ford for a surprise celebration dinner where some family and friends were waiting for their arrival.
We’re stoked to be photographing their wedding on June 30th, 2017!
